Questions Claude can answer from your Salesforce data

Salesforce is a cloud CRM. Dataddo replicates the objects you choose, standard or custom, with the fields your org defines, or runs your own SOQL query.

Stale deals before quarter close

Ask Claude

Which open Opportunities with a CloseDate before 30 September have a LastModifiedDate older than 14 days? Group them by StageName.

The sales lead asks Claude in the last fortnight of the quarter, then has it draft a short note per owner that lists the stale deals to update or close out.

A field dictionary in the repo

Ask Claude

Use the dataddo server to describe the Opportunities entity and write every field, custom ones included, to docs/salesforce-opportunity-fields.md.

A RevOps analyst keeps a field dictionary next to the forecasting scripts. Claude Code reads the replicated schema, so fields the admin added last month appear without manual edits.

Which products actually close

Ask Claude

Which products on Opportunity Line Items appear most often in Opportunities won this quarter? Show how many won deals include each one.

Product marketing wants to know which items end up in signed deals. Claude joins line items to won opportunities and explains the mix in plain words for the planning deck.

With vs. without

Salesforce in Claude, with and without Dataddo

Without Dataddo With Dataddo Outcome for you
Getting Salesforce data into Claude Someone runs an opportunity report, exports it to a spreadsheet and uploads the file to the chat before every forecast conversation. Claude reads the Opportunities, Accounts and Opportunity Line Items objects that Dataddo replicates on your schedule, at the moment someone asks. No report exports
Custom fields A report export carries only the columns its owner picked, so fields your admin created recently are usually missing from the file. Table Replication reads each object's field list from your org, so custom fields can be selected next to standard ones, up to 300 per object. The whole object, not a report
Rolling it out to the sales team Each rep uploads a personal export, so two chats in the same week can answer the same pipeline question from different files. On Claude Team or Enterprise an Owner adds the Dataddo connector once, and each member signs in with their own Dataddo account. One setup for everyone
Scripts and chat on the same data Analysts paste numbers from the CRM interface into notebooks by hand, so scripts and conversations drift apart over time. After claude mcp add, Claude Code queries the same replicated Salesforce entities as the chat, so code and answers share one copy. Repo and chat agree
Token consumption Claude spends tokens exploring raw Salesforce columns, sampling rows and retrying until it understands the data. Field definitions and relations are supplied up front, so the model skips the exploration and goes straight to the answer. Less tokens per answer
Answer quality Prone to wrong joins, invented fields and numbers that are hard to check. Answers grounded in defined fields. In the Dataddo benchmark, 78.5% of questions were answered correctly, against 65.5% with plain CSV files. Better answers

Salesforce datasets you can use in Claude

The Salesforce datasets finance and RevOps teams use most, with their real field names. Claude queries them by name through the Dataddo semantic layer.

Runs on the schedule you set. Each run re-reads a relative window on a date field such as LastModifiedDate and replaces that window's data, so older records are loaded with a full data re-sync.

Benchmark

More right answers. Half the confident mistakes.

We asked 43 pre-registered questions of three real datasets - Google Search Console, HubSpot deals and Google Ads - and delivered the same rows to the same model in four ways. Only the data layer changed.

78.5%

of questions answered correctly - the best of the four delivery methods tested

2x

fewer confidently wrong answers - 14.0% of runs against 24.0% and 26.3%

2.8x

more correct answers on messy CRM data - better on 8 questions, worse on none

Answered correctly All 43 questions - higher is better
Wrong, but stated as fact Share of runs - lower is better

Same model, prompts and rows in every condition; 759 graded runs, ground truth frozen before any run. On Google Search Console alone, documented CSV files did as well as Data to AI™ - the advantage comes from messier data such as HubSpot deals.

FAQ

Salesforce and Claude: FAQ

How do I connect Salesforce to Claude?

Create a Salesforce source in Dataddo using Salesforce Table Replication for objects such as Opportunities, Opportunity Line Items and Accounts, then attach it to a Claude destination or AI Model. In Claude, add the custom connector https://headless.dataddo.com/mcp-data and sign in. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add with that URL.

Does Claude connect to Salesforce directly?

No. Dataddo replicates the Salesforce objects you pick on a schedule and serves them through the Data Access MCP server. Claude signs in to Dataddo, not Salesforce.

Can Claude update opportunities in Salesforce?

No. Claude reads objects Dataddo has already extracted, asking for entities and fields by name. Dataddo never accepts SQL from the model, and nothing is written back to your org.

Should I use Table Replication or Custom SOQL Query for Claude?

Table Replication replicates entire objects and supports incremental updates. Custom SOQL Query lets you access multiple objects at once or transform data in Salesforce's native query language.

Will Claude see our Salesforce custom fields?

Yes, if you select them. Table Replication reads the field list from each object's description in your org, so custom fields sit next to standard ones, up to 300 attributes per object.

Can I test with a Salesforce sandbox in Claude Code?

Yes. Authorize Salesforce Custom Domain with your sandbox domain, for example dataddo--partial.sandbox, build a flow from it and try your prompts in Claude Code before you switch to production.

Do I need a paid Claude plan for Salesforce data?

No. Custom connectors work on every plan and Free allows one. Pro and Max users add Dataddo themselves, while on Team and Enterprise an Owner adds it once and members sign in with their own Dataddo login.
